Overview
Timuquana Country Club is a historic 1923 Donald Ross design set on the banks of the St. John’s River. By the mid-1990’s the layout had fallen into disrepair. Bobby Weed Golf Design was commissioned to lead a complete recovery and renovation of the property. This new product was revealed in 1996. Weed’s work helped Timuquana host the 2002 USGA Senior Amateur.
In 2021, Timuquana became host of a new PGA TOUR Champions event, The Constellation Furyk & Friends.

Approach
BWGD was careful to create features in keeping with the Ross aesthetic, mainly through square tees, simple bunkers shapes and low-profile greens.
Heritage live oaks frame many of the golf holes, providing character that new layouts struggle to recreate. Open approaches, wide fairways, and close-cut green surrounds also reflect the age of the course.
Solution
Each golf holes offers a variety of routes to the flag, forcing players to think carefully on each tee. With its subtle strategy and softer features, Timuquana must be patiently discovered – a perfect place for the member who plays often.
